Dream On. Chapter 28: The plan.

Previously...

The plan

Dalia managed to slip away unnoticed amidst the crowd. Marla had asked her to meet her during the night, and, as much as she hated it, she had to do it. She met Marla at the rooftop of the canteen building, how did Marla get the key to it was one more of her mysteries, but the thing was that there they were. Dalia was freezing because she hadn't picked her coat, and she was only wearing a party dress, Marla wasn't much more dressed, actually she probably was much less dressed, yet she didn't seem to be feeling the cold as she was smoking leaning on a snowed wall.
-Hello Dalia, it has been a long time, hasn't it?- she said while breathing out smoke.
-What do you want, Marla?- Dalia replied in an irritated tone.
-Mmmm, I'm not liking what I hear... Do you want to go back to milk cows, dear?
-No, I don't... it's just that... I'm freezing.- she used as an excuse.
-Hmmm, that's better.- she took a small bottle out of a pocket.- I want you to make Albert drink this, I'd recommend you to put it in his drink.
-What is it for?- asked Dalia curiously as she stared at the crystal clear liquid inside the bottle.
-You wouldn't understand, sweetie.- Marla replied condescendingly.- Just do it.
-You're not going to kill him, are you?
-I promise I'm not going to kill him, happy now? Now leave, I'll be waiting for you here.
Dalia went back to her friends, as Marla told her, it wasn't too difficult to pour the contents of the little bottle in Albert's drink. She waited until he had finished it all. Then she waited a bit more to see if anything weird happened to him, but he only looked a bit more drunk, although that was normal taking into account that it was the fifth drink he was having that evening. Then she went looking for Marla.
She was exactly in the same place she had left her before, and she seemed to have spent all that time smoking because there were several ends of cigarette lying on the floor.
-So?
-I did it.- said Dalia handing her the empty bottle.
-Good.- replied Marla.
-What's going to happen to him?
-He's going to have some sweet sweet dreams.
-And that's it?
-Yes, that's it.- assured Marla with a dangerous smile before leaving through the door.
Dalia ran behind her to catch her to ask what did she mean, but Marla had vanished and apparently no one had seen her in all the evening.
