Searching for answers

-How was the exam?- asked Myriam as he entered his bedroom.
-Well, taking into account that I didn't have too much time to study it wasn't too bad. I'm exhausted, did it really need to have two parts? At least, we could stop for lunch!- he replied leaving his bag on his bed, he massaged his shoulders to relieve all the tension.- What did you find?- he asked Dalia and Robert.
-Not much.- Robert replied waving his hands in frustration.- We did get someone to help us, though.
-Seriously?
-Yes, Robert went to ask for help to the sexy brunette library staffer.- added Dalia, mockingly.
-You're jealous!
-I'm not!
Albert and Myriam started laughing at the situation, that kind of discussions happened more often now that they were living twenty-four hours a day together. Dalia and Robert stopped arguing feeling a bit ashamed.
-The thing is that, apparently, Jessica, loves history books and she is particularly interested in witchcraft and witch trials, so she said that she would look for the Creator during her free time.- said Robert.
-Wait what did you tell her?- Albert was alarmed.
-Don't worry, we've told her that we heard some kind of old legend and we wanted to read more about it, but that we couldn't find it anywhere.- Dalia told him.
-So, let's see if she can find anything. I saw Marla today, she looked terrible.- he said changing subjects.
-Do you feel sorry for her?- asked Myriam incredulously.
-No,... well, maybe a bit. Don't get me wrong, she has done terrible things, but what if it wasn't actually her, what if she's a victim too?
-Albert Ian Miller.-Myriam reminded him so much of his mother that he had to look twice to make sure it wasn't actually Asha.-She killed your grandmother and tried to kill your sister, and she will probably try to kill you too. You can not feel sorry for her.
-But...- she was right, though, but inside him, there was something that was convinced that there were lots of things they still didn't know.- The thing is, she didn't even realize that I was there, she didn't look dangerous or threatening, she looked like a lost animal, we know what's her weakness now and we need to take profit of it.
-Are you going to go there again today?- inquired Robert.
-No not today, I'm too tired and I would probably mess up, also if she has two bad nights in a row she's probably going to suspect that something is going on. We need to catch her unaware and choose carefully when is the best moment to attack. But, as you know, we still have lots of things to do in the meantime. One of them is dinner. Do we have anything to eat?
-You're a lucky boy, I got tired of studying and I decided to cook dinner for all of us.- Myriam said as she took out a large Tupperware.
-Alone?- asked Albert.
-Yes, sir, I've been cooking alone since I was twelve.- she replied sharply.
-That's not what I mean... You were alone, without Dalia and Robert?
-Yes, they stayed in the library...
-Fuck, Myriam! Something could have happened to you!- he was shaking.
-But it didn't! Calm down, Albert! We all need our moments of intimacy. Also, you said that she didn't look like herself today so there was no way she could have hurt me. However, if it makes you feel better I won't do it again. Not even for food. Now, let's have dinner, and don't lie to me telling that you're not hungry because I know you, and, most importantly, I see you eat every day.
-So what's the menu that made you risk your life?- asked Robert mockingly.
-Rice salad.- she saw Robert's expression and quickly added.- No, it doesn't have tuna on it!

Everyone laughed and the tension disappeared.
